Superb Japanese Illustrators and Artists Collection
July 16th, 2008Inconceivable Japanese culture inspires many artists. I’ve been always amazed by unique polarities of Japanese art. From one side it is simplicity, rough and untrimmed, an affinity for beauty achieved by accident. From another it’s incredible multiplicity, symbolism and careful details elaboration.
Japanese artists mastered the line’s perfection, while western painters gained subtle treatment of light and shadow. And no wonder that Japanese illustrators are so good, as the line has been always the main means of art expression in the east. Traditional Japanese calligraphy and printmaking influenced much modern illustrators.
This blogpost is the collection of beautiful illustrations made by different (mainly Japanese) artists. I hope illustrators, animators, people relating to art in general find this post useful and inspiring.

I am in need of a damn good artist willing to team up on a dark comic that’s twisted as it is violent. It will be submitted to Dark Horse Comics.
