Scott,
When you plan to store something valuable in the bank would you prefer to see the deposit safe where this something is going to be? Than why shouldn't some of the hosting companies clients expect to see something that their data is going to be stored at? If the hosting company has good servers than why not to illustrate that? I would love to see that, why not?
As a persuasive element servers really ARE great. They act as an additional means that have to be combined with a traditional design elements. When there are tons of hosting providers every single detail matters.
Besides, Scott, if you don't think someone expects to see servers at hosting websites than why do you use them at your own hosting website? :)

Hi -
Good article, but where is it proven that someone expects to see a server when they go to a hosting site? Most people don't really care about the hardware. Few care about the software. What they want to do is get their website online, and see how it will help them meet their business mission.
